This post chronicles the work done on the Lilypond at the bottom of the Italian walk.

2008 – Work starts to remove old crumbling concrete sloping edge.

The first task was to dig a trench so that the lilypond doesn’t overflow as a result of heavy rainfall.

Next, level off the old edge of the pond by keying in the sound edge and then making some wooden shuttering (missing in picture) so that we could pour in the concrete mix. Then top off with an inch of mortar to level off.
